20MacApps: The Bundle of the Year

I have been fooled by Mark, please do not buy this bundle, and I regret what I said in this post. For more info on Mark Howson’s Scams, check out The Mark Fiasco…FULLY EXPOSING MARK HOWSON…Gig is up… on the MacHeist Forums

Original Post:

NameNetwork Ltd, the makers of the Mac Pak are now working on a new project, 20MacApps. In this deal you get 20 Mac Applications, thats right, 20 for $40. “Mac application bundles come in many varieties, but the 20MacApps promotion is truly something new,” explains NameNetwork CEO Mark Howson, “With 20MacApps, all of the applications are brand new, good value for money and of a really amazing quality when bought alone from us at $20 each, but $40 for all 20 applications is an unbelievable offer.”

Most would assume that if they are selling 20 Brand New Mac Applications for $40, that they would be small applications, with limited functionality, “Some of these applications are from the ‘big guys’ that we’ve all heard of,” he continued, “but we’re also really focused on giving new developers a way to cost effectively promote their products. All the applications will be exclusively published by 20MacApps, and sold by 20MacApps, TheMacPak, and also by some of the deals sites we all know and love.”

They have published a list of the types of applications included in the bundle;

4x Amazing Games
1x Great Video App
1x Intuitive Finance App
2x Exciting Business Apps
2x Fantastic Audio Apps
1x Home and Learning Apps
2x Web Design Apps
1x Email and Chat App
1x Security App
1x Development Tool
1x Imaging and 3D App
1x Utility App
1x System Tool App
1x Additional Application

and a Bonus of 1x Billy Frontier

For such a great price, this is one of the best bundles I have seen this year.

Make sure you check out 20MacApps for more and details.

    1. I am not buying from these people ever again.

    2. I’m not buying a ‘mystery’.

So, I’m not buying into this thing, obviously.

Why are you advertising this schmuck when he ripped you off?

Sounds like the bundle all the year, 20×2 weeks == 40 weeks, assuming that these guys deliver.

My prior experience with themacpak.com (now on “hiatus”) was, to put it mildly, very frustrating.

I ordered on December 11, 2007 and was told that I’d get a registration code for Billy Frontier immediately. I still haven’t. I emailed themacpak@sproutitmail.com on January 1, 4, 6, 9, 11, 14, 25, and 27, and also submitted multiple inquiries via the Helpdesk and Live Support links on http://www.20macapps.com/ on those same days. I got only one reply, from mark@namenetwork.info on January 19 (over one month after my purchase) and have yet to receive a code for Billy Frontier. I think this is a scam. I have filed a claim with PayPal but I doubt they’ll do the right thing.

I’m beginning to wonder … I purchased a MacPak bundle before and it turned out to be a terrific deal. So, I bought the Santa’s Stocking bundle last November. When it came time for the bundle to be released, I got an offer to switch to the 20MacApps bundle, resulting in a $10 savings. So, I said sure. I did get Billy Frontier and my key for it, but the first app (PaperClip) is overdue. The 20MacApps site has been unchanged for a while, the forums are closed for “upgrades” and Concentrate Software has released an app called PaperClip that looks suspiciously like the first 20MacApps app for half the price ($9.95). Unfortunately, it’s too late to make a claim on my credit card, so I’m hoping they deliver eventually.

The site is down. Anyone who made a payment is now hosed. Looks like they took the money and ran.

If you bought into this scam, contact your credit card company and dispute the charge. My CC co. is crediting the money back to me. It’s not too late, call them today.
